Born 1947 Germany, Steven Deutscher arrived in Australia as a teenager in 1960. He studied under Hugh Sawrey (Qld) and Richard Bogusz (Vic). Stephen was commissioned by Christopher Skase to do a series of paintings for Mirage Resorts in Queensland. The artist's real name is Gunter Stefan Schulze.
